Simon Shenkman

Director

Simon is the director of the business. After starting out at KPMG and becoming ACA qualified during the 1990s, at the turn of the millennium he started out in the accountancy niche of small business and has never looked back! Simon has overseen the business grow from being just his own band of clients to a 4 strong team within our Stockport office. Simon is a practicing member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA) and has more than 30 years in small business accountancy with a particular expertise in retirement planning and in the land and property sector.

In his spare time, Simon enjoys keeping fit in the gym and through Pilates. In the summer he can be found playing Cricket and is always available for an informal chat about how we might be able to assist with your accounting requirements.

Robert

Robert is Simon’s son and joined the business after finishing university in 2020. After graduating in History and Hispanic Studies (2:1) he has undertaken the AAT Accountancy Qualification to transition into the financial services industry. Robert is proficient in using modern accountancy software such as Xero and VT Transaction+ and will generally take on the responsibility for handling the accounts for younger clients starting out in small business for the first time.

In his spare time, Robert is an active Real Tennis player in the top 10 of the World Rankings (https://www.irtpa.com/world-rankings-singles/) and plays international tournaments in France, Australia and the USA.

Madeline

Madeline has been working for Shenkman Accountancy since 2004 and was the first member of staff who Simon took on. She has accompanied Simon in overseeing the business grow from just a handful of clients into an established accountancy firm in Stockport. She specialises in undertaking complex bookkeeping work and is known for her incredible attention to detail.

Donna

Donna is Madeline’s daughter and has been working for Shenkman Accountancy Services since 2009. She is our Payroll specialist in addition to taking on all other aspects of Accountancy work and is therefore a crucial member of the team. Without Donna’s expertise, there is no way that the 100+ Payroll schemes that we have in operation would run quite so smoothly!
